I'll get the party started here. What does everyone prefer? I personally like to grill on a ceramic (Kamado Joe) and smoke on a pellet (Pitts & Spitts). Stick burners are great and love the old school, but smarter not harder, right?

I first got into BBQ when I bought a pellet grill three years ago, specifically the Daniel Boone made by Green Mountain Grills, which is a solid alternative and competitor to the pricier Traegers (I do have a Traeger Ranger and love that for the convenience). Most recently though, I've been using a Kamado Joe Classic II I bought a few months ago thanks to a friend's discount, and haven't cooked on anything since. I'd love to learn how to use a stick burner, but the convenience of a pellet or ceramic is hard to ignore..
Got my trusty Traeger and recently have gotten into stick burning. I want to make an above ground Carolina style pit this summer so I can do whole hogs more often. I’ll smoke or grill on anything you put in front of me!
I use an offset barrel smoker/grill. My go to is to use Cowboy Hardwood Lump Charcoal in it. Kingsford bricks are second after that. It definitely takes more attention to get it done but I don't mind the process on the long smokes. Grilling with it is easy and I can take out the grates and grill caveman style or hang what I am cooking over the fire with skewers. (see images below and I can't get the chicken pic to rotate)
My next goal is to get a Breeo Fire Pit and grate so I can start doing things on more open fires.
