EXQUISITE CORPSE is a game that has been played by artists of all kinds for decades. It is a collaborative exercise in which you will work with other artists to create a complete story. I have found it to be one of the best ways to open up my mind to all possible creative outlets. LUCKY JOE, our PBA Book Club pick for April, has not one, but three authors. Similar to the philosophy behind exquisite corpse, each author wrote their own section in order to create a complete novella. So, in order to get ourselves in the mood for our meeting next week, I will be hosting an exquisite corpse writing challenge here on the forum. The rules of EXQUISITE CORPSE are simple: 1. I write the first line. 2. YOU write the next. 3. And then someone else writes the next line. I will take the lines as they come in and add them to the original post at the top of this thread. We will continue this process until the night of our next Book Club Meeting on 4/30 for LUCKY JOE with authors Leo Jenkins, David Rose, and Brian Kimber. I will read the finished product during our meeting. It might turn out to be a story or maybe a poem or maybe even something never seen before. We won’t know until it is complete. Let your voice be heard! The Story: It was in the air. An uncomfortable ghostly consciousness filling the void. Lingering heavy and cathartic in the valley. A flash of lightning illuminates a solitary figure. This is what he came for. Another chance. This time he couldn't risk failure.
