Good morning!
I am excited to announce the beginning of PB Abbate in Jacksonville, Florida. Or for the locals DUUUVAL!
A little bit about me, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps September 2012 and was in until June of 2018. I was a Security Forces guy and found my place in the Recapture Tactics Team in Kingsbay, Georgia. I was there for about 3 years before I left to the best marine base in the country, 29 palms. I served with V3/4 for the duration of my Marine Corps career. While I was in I deployed to Darwin, AU as a part of MRF-D as a part of the Scout Sniper Platoon. I went to the AASAM competition representing 3/4 and the Marine Corps where myself and my partner would take home a medal!
Now that I am out of the Marine Corps I have landed in the National Guard in a augment Platoon of soldiers awaiting special forces training. I did go to SFAS where I tore some ligaments in my knee. One dream ends another begins right?
I just graduated from UNF with my bachelors and am attending UF in the fall for my MS in Sports Management and Marketing.
A large part of my “successful“ transition out of the Marine Corps and into civilian life was veteran community. I found myself volunteering with veteran non-profits locally and finding ways to give back to the community that built me. This and playing Rugby for my college, but again, that is community.
I am super excited about where this organization is going and am beyond enthused to be a part of the tribe As a regional captain and club leader.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and building our community in the area.
Stand by for dates on our upcoming first chapter event!
Happy to have you here, Damian!
