What are you guys playing out of lately?
I have a fender telecaster (American body with a Mexican made neck, my weird Frankenstein guitar). I am currently running it through my small Orange Crush am because my Fender Blues Jr blew a tube.
For pedals I have a MXR DynaComp compressor, a Wampler Pinnacle distortion pedal, and a TC Electronics Carona mini chorus pedal.
Since I'm still very much a novice I haven't wanted to go crazy with gear until I really need it. That being said, that Wampler Pinnacle is one of my favorite distortion pedals I have come across so far.
Is there any other pedals or pieces of gear that essential to your guys' setups? I'll be looking to make some additions soon and would love to get some ideas from you dudes.
I am primarily acoustic! Very old school. I am actually in the market for a PA if you have recommendations. I do have a Lucky Dog Evangelist though! I am not good enough for the quality of guitar she is though haha.
I generally use a mixpre 10-II and an at825 stereo mic. I have a few lom and jrf products, usi micros, contact microphones, hydrophones, and others that I employ to satisfy curious impulses.
Hey all. I've been playing guitar live for ~20 years now. My favorite guitar is a silver Schecter C-1 diamond. In close second is my 7-String Jackson JS. It's much easier to play lead work on that guitar.
I have a practice set up using a Blackstar ID:Core. I love the FX on there, especially the time based stuff.
For clubs / vanues I have a Blackstar HT Stage 60 with an extension cab. It's a tube driven amp with super diverse tone. I was also able to snag a 5150+ for an absolutely stupid price a few years ago. I just need a 4x12 for that.
For pedals I try to keep things very simple. I always run some kind of boost / drive
at the front of the signal chain. Recently I bought a used Earthquaker Devices Tone Job that serves as an EQ / Boost. I put that at the front of all my chains - recording, live, whatever. It's a great piece of gear.
