PB Abbate has been given 6 spots to climb Mt Rainier this summer, from 13-15 June (not including travel days), courtesy of another awesome organization called Veterans Adventure Group. This adventure will be free of cost, we only ask that you provide your own transportation to and from (we will have transportation to and from the local airport!). No prior experience required, however, in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip for everyone included, we ask that you have a baseline level of fitness to be able to climb 1,000 ft of elevation within an hour and with 50-60 pounds of weight. Mountaineering specific skills will be taught during this trip. If this trip sounds of interest to you, drop a line in this chat with some basic info and any questions you may have! Further information will be provided as we get more into the coordination and planning phase.

I'm very interested in this trip. Will equipment be provided? I've got some gear (ax, boots, crampons, harness, etc.) That I'd like to use if possible.
I would love to do this! I second the question about equipment, as while I am a SAR volunteer all my gear is very specific to the mountains here in Central AZ (3000-4000 ft, 40 pounds ish kit, and warm).
This will be a great trip! Would love to be part of the group.
