My Name Is Mike Truax. I am currently the owner/head coach at CrossFit Joshua Tree located not far from 29 Palms. I served with 2/7 from 05-08 and then again from 10-12. With a 3 year stint at SOTG in the middle. I left the Marine Corps in 2012 and started teaching and coaching CrossFit locally. In 2015 I opened CFJT and have been doing that full time for the last 6 years, earning my Certified CrossFit Trainer (CFL3) credential along the way. If Im not coaching classes or training athletes at my facility you can find me spending time with my wife and kids. My other hobbies include long miserable hikes through beautiful mountains, big game hunting (trying to figure this out in CA), and rock climbing. I am also interested in learning how to fly a paraglider.
Out of the 10 general physical skills strength is one of my biggest weknesses. I am currently on a quest to fix that. This is my current plan:
1.Complete 4 heavy strength days + accessory work every 9 days.
2. Do CrossFit workouts 3-4 days a week. Making recovery for strength days the priority.
3. Eat real food. Avoid it if it didn't grow out of the ground or have a mom.
Mike Ciaccio here. I live in central NJ. USMC 05-09. Deployed to Iraq twice. Im currently a detective in a small town in jersey. Happy to have a job and be in a tribe. I used the GI Bill for BA and masters. Love working out and reading. Happy to be here, and if I can be a resource to anyone on here please don’t hesitate to contact me. Shout out to whoever puts in the effort to organize this initiative. I know it takes effort.
I'm Adam Wilburn (@rhinochiro on Instagram). I live in Western Massachusetts with my wife of 20 years and two kids. I was in the Marine Corps from 1987-93. I am a chiropractor in private practice specializing in sports medicine. I have worked as the chiropractor for the University of Massachusetts Sports Medicine Department since moving here from Palo Alto, CA in 2003. I started doing CrossFit with my son 3.5 years ago. My son was about to turn 15 that month and I was a year and a half from turning 50. The box I started at closed 6 months after I started so I helped my coach open Norwottuck CrossFit in Hadley, MA 3 years ago this month. My passions are spending time with my family, CrossFit (5X per week), reading, and hunting (mostly deer). I am excited to have found this group. Thanks Tom!!!
